A selection from the Penny episode, The Golden Man. Behind some rather lackluster effects is a rather deep story addressing the deceit and shallowness of mere appearance, among other still-timely topics. Penny, innocent and naive, is fooled by none of it of course (see my notes in “Random Thoughts on Random Episodes” under The Written Word.) Some good action shots toward the end, as Penny, with Dr. Smith, become involved in a war of champions. As ever, she is wonderfully expressive and emotive, some very good physical acting.
Penny!

Smith always stuck her in front of him when there was danger. What a coward.
